Some of the worst stories are hidden beneath the glamor of a career. Lolo Jones, who took home the USA and the World Championships for hurdle events in 2013, has only achieved this feat through a great deal of work and perseverance. A single mother in a family of five children, Jones had a difficult and a squatter's childhood. The mother of Jones moved around constantly and even lived in the church basement. Jones had to be moved to another school every year up until her senior year because of this nomadic existence. Jones had to live away from mother in Theodore Roosevelt School in order to pursue her interest in track. Jones was a member of four different families in order to ensure that she was studying at a high level. Jones, a cellist in the school's orchestra and recipient of the Gatorade Iowa track and field athlete of the year was awarded the Gatorade Iowa Athlete Award at the end of high school. Jones was one of the most skilled hurdlers in her first year of college. She won the 100-meter hurdles at the 2002 NCAA Track & Field Championship. Also, she was among the participants of the runner-up team for the relay race of 100 meters. Jones is a champion of hurdles in the indoor section at NCAA Championships in both 2003 and 2004. Jones began her track and field career in 2005 after she graduated from university. She won two events, the Torino Memorial and the Heusden Track competitions that same year.

Brandt moved out of Cape Town South Africa to Auckland New Zealand at the end of her teens. Brandt was discovered by casting directors in her home town and was cast in the role as Naevia in the Starz hit Spartacus Blood and Sand and Spartacus Gods of the Arena. As a result of her collaboration with Steven S. D Knight's and Sam Raimi's producers, she became a breakout actor. Mazikeen appeared as the Vertigo/DC comics fans' favorite Mazikeen in Netflix's Lucifer show, which lasted for six years. Forbes listed Lucifer as the top binge-watched show for 2021. Brandt's next appearance is in a six-episode Walking Dead spin-off in 2024, opposite Andrew Lincoln and Danai Gurrira. Other Netflix productions include an animated adult comedy Captain Fall starring Jason Ritter, Anthony Carrigan, and Chris Meloni. This will premiere in the month of the month of July in 2023. Lesley Ann Brandt was born 2nd December in Cape Town, South African. She is one talented New Zealander actress. Lesley Brandt and her family moved to Auckland, New Zealand in the year 1999. After several years being employed in the retail industry her promotion was to the IT Manager consultant. Lesley began her modeling career before deciding to make an appearance in commercials. In 2008 she graduated from her college and began studying Meisner study methods. Lesley's first big role in New Zealand was as a TV actor in Diplomatic Immunity. Lesley Brandt was a guest supporting actress on New Zealand's television drama Shortland Street. The next time she appeared on the show was This Is Not My Life. The show is based on the real account of Waimoana. Lesley Brandt was cast as Naevia the hostage's young daughter and depicted later as a character in Spartacus: Gods of the Arena miniature-series of the Television show Spartacus: Blood and Sand.
